Devastation of Fire - II This photo depicts the devastation fire can have on the environment. Although fire does kill the standing forest, new life rises from death. Fire has been a natural part of the western coniferous forests for many, many years. Fire helps seedlings to germinate and grow; the new seedlings grow and replace the old burned giants that once towered above and will eventually fall to make room for the next generation. Captured in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. 1. Awesome composition and the sunset really adds to the feeling of a burned down forest. Posted 10 years ago
    1. Thank you, Ferdy! As I was hiking out of this particular area and the sun was setting, it really gave a feeling of the forest still being on fire. It wasn't the most beautiful or astonishing sunset I have seen, but because of the setting and where I was for it made all the difference. Posted 10 years ago
