
Mountain Bog Gentian
This was one of the only wildflowers left blooming in the subalpine meadows near Mt. Rainier. It's so high and cold up there that it seems to have only about two seasons. The snow doesn't every really go away and the "spring" wildflowers (which arrive in July-August!) give way to fall colors and soon enough snow

The herbaceous perennial plant ''Gentiana calycosa'' is a species of gentian known by the common names Rainier pleated gentian and Mountain bog gentian.
It is native to the mid-elevation mountains of the western United States and Canada from the Sierra Nevada of California to the Canadian Cascades.
