I was tracking something else entirely in my view finder when this katydid enter the scene, appearing from behind a leaf. Unlike their normal jumpy behavior, this one was very calm and graceful.

The speckled bush-cricket is a flightless species of bush-cricket belonging to the family Tettigoniidae. The species was originally described as "Locusta punctatissima" in 1792.
