Plume moth I seem to be getting good at finding things that need an expert with a microscope and an interest in wee gonads to identify the species… I can say for sure that this is a plume moth and that there are 156 identified species in North America, but beyond that, there appears that there is not a great deal of information on these funky little moths. They have a distinctive T shape and their wings unfurl in flight. Emmelina monodactyla,Geotagged,Morning glory plume moth,United States Click/tap to enlarge Species introCountry intro

  1. It should be one of these - looks like an Emmelina monodactyla.

  2. I'm not convinced that it is a Morning Glory Plume moth… I've seen a very similar one on Bugguide.net, but unfortunately even the experts didn't have an answer there. Posted 10 years ago, modified 10 years ago
