With a macro view on the species though, I think it's a rather strange and interesting creature. They usually detect me from metres away, it's a rarity for them to sit still and pose like this. ''Crambus lathoniellus'' is a species of moth of the family Crambidae. It is found in Europe, Central and South-East Asia.

The wingspan is ca. 20 millimetres . The moth flies from May to September depending on the location.

The larvae feed on various grasses.
