    1. Usually they are a lot more shy than this guy was. A younger male in the same area walked right by me shortly after I took this shot, almost close enough to touch (I have a shot of him too that I'll upload soon).
      The park I took this at has been somewhat popular this summer, is surrounded by houses, far from anywhere you can hunt, and very few predators, so I think that has made the deer more trusting than normal (or at least the males - the does seem to still keep their distance).

The white-tailed deer, also known commonly as the whitetail and the Virginia deer, is a medium-sized species of deer native to North America, Central America, and South America as far south as Peru and Bolivia, where it predominately inhabits high mountain terrains of the Andes.
