  1. Wow! Super sharp, excellent! Posted 10 years ago
    1. Thank you. I'm never satisfied though. I was going for the sharp facet eyes, inspired by some super macro shot I saw recently. Can't do it though, it requires a bigger magnification and focus stacking. Posted 10 years ago
      1. I can relate to that, would love to get those faceted eyes but way too lazy for focus stacking! One day I shall save up for a better macro lens..one day! Still love this photo! Posted 10 years ago
  2. I'm jealous, the details are great.
I've tried this several times but with no luck.
Next macro season I'm going to try it again ;)

    1. Thanks, Wendy. I think the key of this shot was using flash, otherwise F10 from hand would not be possible. Posted 10 years ago

The Vagrant Darter, ''Sympetrum vulgatum'', is a European dragonfly. The species takes it English name from its habit of occasionally appearing as a rare vagrant north of its normal range. However, it likely to be under-recorded because it is very similar to the Common Darter, ''S. striolatum''.
In central and northeast Europe, the species is common. In breeds in standing water.
