Purpuricenus budensis (Götz, 1783) is a species of longhorn beetle from Southern Europe, often found on Christ's thorn (Paliurus spina-christi).

Regarding the beetles, it doesn't help much. The problem is that the taxonomy of these species is not very clear and I don't know if the scientists can agree about it. A few species/subspecies are considered as synonyms. Only a few American species are available in Wikipedia so, in order to identify it, an entry will have to be created in the JD database, but I don't know which reference to take.
