  2. Thank you for the identification. I googled and saw it is similar to the Ornithoglossum Vulgare (+/- 120mm high) - I don't know whether that is a positive ID - found outside Hopetown in the Kalahari Sandveld area Posted 10 years ago

Ornithoglossum vulgare grows from 7 to 70 cm and is found on stony slopes from Western Africa to tropical Africa. It is the most wide spread species and has been implicated in stock losses because of its toxic properties.
