Being at the right place at the right time "Sunrise point", Kodachadri, Western Ghats, Shimoga - It was a rough night after a tiresome trek for a couple of new trekkers in the group, and the next morning we were to see the sunrise that was supposedly an awesome scene to fill our eyes with.

Excitement is a hard feeling to come by when your legs are singing songs of pain from the previous day's trek. This being a reason, a few guys got up later than we were suppose to be up by. Luckily, it wasn't too late, as the plan was to go to a near by hill (around 10 minutes away) on a Jeep.

A person drove our group to the sunrise point on a crude road, and it was still quite dark when we reached there. We rested for 10 - 15 minutes before we started to see the sky illuminate with shades of blue, and the land - hazy with orange tint. We were all prepared to be mesmerized while keeping our fingers crossed for the sky to be clear during the moment we were all waiting for. It was the moment of truth, and within a minute, we saw the sky change colors like a Chameleon, while the ball of fire slowly started to emerge in the backdrop. Till date, it is one of the most beautiful sunrises we ever got to witness!
In a few minutes, the Sun was above the horizon and the fog started to clear out, revealing a series of landscapes for as far as our vision could reach. Geotagged,India, colorful, dawn, india, karnataka, kodachadri, sunrise, western ghats Click/tap to enlarge Promoted

    1. Absolutely, Ferdy! I never regret getting up early in the morning, or travelling hundreds of miles just to experience something as awesome as this! :) Posted 10 years ago
