PROBLEM:
The fruit of ''Opuntia ficus-indica'' can cause constipation if consumed with the seeds; without the seeds it is laxative.

SOLUTION:
Don't eat the seeds !!

    Now thats interesting, we eat a fair amount of prickly pears when in season..but we always eat the seeds! Posted 11 years ago

"Opuntia ficus-indica" is a species of cactus that has long been a domesticated crop plant important in agricultural economies throughout arid and semiarid parts of the world. It is thought to possibly be native to Mexico.
