"Hangin' out" with a friend &quot;Bonnet Macaque&quot; (Macaca Radiata) - There&#039;s always some eye catching scene when these playful, funny creatures are around. As fun as they are, they can still be dangerous when provoked.<br />

At the time of clicking this pic, the Macaques in the picture were surprisingly still and I almost did not spot them. "Bonnet Macaque" (Macaca Radiata) - There's always some eye catching scene when these playful, funny creatures are around. As fun as they are, they can still be dangerous when provoked.

At the time of clicking this pic, the Macaques in the picture were surprisingly still and I almost did not spot them. We stopped to see the lake for a few seconds, and that is when I spotted them hanging up the tree.

The bonnet macaque is a macaque endemic to southern India. Its distribution is limited by the Indian Ocean on three sides and the Godavari and Tapti Rivers along with a related competing species of rhesus macaque in the north. Land use changes in last few decades have resulted in changes in its distribution boundaries with the rhesus macaque, raising concern for its status in the wild.
