Come and get me. I double dare you!
Indian Cobra (Naja Naja) - There are four venomous snakes species causing the most number of snake bites in South Asia (mostly in India). They are referred to as the "Big Four". Armed with a powerful Neurotoxin and Cardiotoxin, the Indian Cobra dominates the list of the "Big Four", followed by "Common Krait", "Russel's Viper", and "Saw-scaled Viper" (in descending order).
Luckily, a polyvalent serum that effectively neutralizes the venom of all of the Big Four snakes is widely available in India and is frequently used to save lives. However, the availability of the anti-venom in time is quite a challenge.
The Cobra in the pic is one of the adult Cobras (spectacled) a friend of mine rescued a couple of years ago. As a routine, we click several pictures of the rescued Snakes before releasing them in the wild.

The Indian cobra also known as the Spectacled cobra, Asian cobra or Binocellate cobra is a species of the genus ''Naja'' found in the Indian subcontinent and a member of the "big four", the four species which inflict the most snakebites on humans in India. This snake is revered in Indian mythology and culture, and is often seen with snake charmers. It is now protected in India under the ''Indian Wildlife Protection Act'' .
