"Scratch" that Neermatti tree (Terminalia Arjuna) and "Rake marks" - a tree which has about 10 pots of water stored in its trunk, fire-resistant bark, and medicinal properties!

I know about this tree only because of the fact that Bengal Tigers choose this tree to mark their territory in the wild (reason unknown); at least here in South India. There are prominent rake marks on the tree in the picture, and the top most rake mark (horizontal marks by 3 claws) is around 12 ft above the ground level - made by a Tiger in that area!
It is said that during drought, even Elephants drink water stored in the trunk of this tree. Geotagged,India,Mudumalai,Terminalia arjuna, big cat, forest, marking, neermatti, rake marks, storage, territory, tiger, tree, water Click/tap to enlarge Species introCountry intro
