Hold! Snail Crossing
Cryptozona Bistrialis - A species of Indian land Snail, about which there is very less to no information online, except for a few images here and there on a few websites. This species of Snail belongs to the Snails that have "Caudal Mucous Pit"; which is the elongated back portion of its body from where it produces mucous, probably to keep its path slippery to move easily?
This species might belong to the family "Ariophantidae"; air-breathing, land Snails (non-marine), and semi-slugs

Cryptozona bistrialis (Gastropoda: Ariophantidae) is a native land snail in India and Sri Lanka that ranges across forests of the dry and intermediate zones; in the wet zone it is restricted to cultivated habitats below 1000 m elevation(Raheem & Naggs, 2006).

Btw, I was quite drunk when I found this little creature crawling into the green we see in the image. Good that I try to not lose my senses completely to Alcohol, I did not step on it even in extreme low light. Also, I never expected such amazing image quality from my iPhone at the time of clicking. I absolutely love the outcome! Posted 11 years ago, modified 11 years ago
