Sneak Peek
Indian Giant Squirrel AKA Malabar Giant Squirrel - I clicked this picture during the last animal census I had attended in the year 2013. The Squirrel was resting high up in the tree, but lucky me, I have sharp eyes that helped me spot the Squirrel in no time. High ISO on camera and high shutter speed resulted in too much noise in the image, and I had to take care of that in post-processing.

The Indian giant squirrel, or Malabar giant squirrel, is a large tree squirrel species genus ''Ratufa'' native to India. It is a large-bodied diurnal, arboreal, and herbivorous squirrel found in South Asia. It is called शेकरू 'Shekru' in Marathi and is state animal of Maharashtra.
