Mugger warming Mugger Crocodile - commonly found throughout India, they have been documented to grow up to 4.5 m (15 ft) in length. I got an opportunity to click this beautiful Crocodile in the Moyar river, Thengumarahada forest, Tamil Nadu, during 2013 animal census. It was easily 9 - 10 ft in length, and its camouflage made it almost invisible to my eyes at first! Mugger Crocodile - commonly found throughout India, they have been documented to grow up to 4.5 m (15 ft) in length. The mugger crocodile is found throughout the Indian subcontinent and the surrounding countries. It is one of the three crocodilians found in India, the others being the gharial and the saltwater crocodile. It is a medium sized crocodile that mostly inhabits freshwater lakes, ponds, sluggish rivers, swamps and marshes.
