This is by far the prettiest bug I have ever seen. The Large Painted Locust resides in the Galapagos and is easy to spot when it hops as you see a flash of green, orange, and maybe a bit of blue. Lovely insect. At Least seven more species intros to come!
The Large Painted Locust is endemic to the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador, except Española Island. The locusts form a large part of the diet of the Galápagos hawk and lava lizards. Can be up to 8 cm long.
