Anhinga drying off
I haven't been out recently, so pulling something from the archives ;)
This bird was a wild visitor to a park. The area is a man made marsh at an alligator park. Most of the birds here come and go freely - there's also a large colony of breeding egrets. The park didn't bring them in intentionally, but the birds apparently have found it to be a rather attractive spot, so much so that the park offers special early morning entry to birders/bird photographers during certain seasons.

The Anhinga, sometimes called Snakebird, Darter, American Darter, or Water Turkey, is a water bird of the warmer parts of the Americas. The word "anhinga" comes from the Brazilian Tupi language and means devil bird or snake bird.
