Flower Spider Dangling My husband has great eyes and spotted this little fellow before he scooted up the tree, I did crop the picture to bring out his gorgeous detail . Not sure why the site is saying this was captured in 1970?, I took the picture on August the 26th 2014, same spider same day as in the other photo. Photo taken with my Cannon Rebel T3. The Goldenrod crab spider

"Misumena vatia" is a species of crab spider with holarctic distribution. In North America, where it is the largest and best-known flower spider, it is called the goldenrod crab spider or flower spider, because it is commonly found hunting in goldenrod sprays in the autumn.
