    1. I agree Ferdy! Really ridiculous! I so wanted to get a shot without the fence in it. The second I pulled up to the farm, about 30 of them came running over to me......and this was the best I could do. Most of the others were either fighting, mating or relieving themselves! I think I picked the most appropriate one! Why do they have to be so goofy looking????? Posted 11 years ago

An alpaca is a domesticated species of South American camelid. It resembles a small llama in appearance.

There are two breeds of alpaca; the Suri alpaca and the Huacaya alpaca.

Alpacas are kept in herds that graze on the level heights of the Andes of southern Peru, northern Bolivia, Ecuador, and northern Chile at an altitude of 3,500 m to 5,000 m above sea level, throughout the year. Alpacas are considerably smaller than llamas, and unlike llamas, they were not bred.. more
