Garden Bug!!
This little fellow is in abundance in our garden and rapidly eating it's way through all our leaves of various plants as you can see in the picture. I have scoured the internet to try and i.d. him but the nearest I can come up with is harlequin bug. Any help would be appreciated
"Nezara viridula", commonly known as the southern green stink bug, southern green shield bug or green vegetable bug, is a plant-feeding stink bug. Believed to have originated in Ethiopia, it can now be found around the world. Because of its preference for certain species of legumes, such as beans and soybeans, it is an economically important pest on such crops.

It's quite beautiful! The difficulty in identification is that nymphs look radically different from adults. Posted 11 years ago
