    I'm headed there in August, 2016. How far away from them were you, and what gear did you use?

    1. Hi Scott,

      All we used on the entire trip was an 80-200mm zoom lens. I would guess that I was about 50-75 yards away for this shot, but you can get closer. On some shots I took I was only 6 feet away. (they are very tolerant).

The African Penguin, also known as the Black-footed Penguin is a species of penguin, confined to southern African waters. It is also widely known as the "Jackass" Penguin for its donkey-like bray, although several species of South American penguins produce the same sound.
