Crowned pigeon I found this bird after hearing a whooping like whistle while I was in New Guinea.  I grabbed my Canon Rebel and zoom lens (55-250) and kept following my ear until I found the little fellow seen above. Crowned pigeon

I found this bird after hearing a whooping like whistle while I was in New Guinea. I grabbed my Canon Rebel and zoom lens (55-250) and kept following my ear until I found the little fellow seen above.

The Victoria Crowned Pigeon, ''Goura victoria'', is a large, bluish-grey pigeon with elegant blue lace-like crests, maroon breast and red iris. The bird may be easily recognized by the unique white tips on its crests.
