      1. Dear Ali, I tried to identify the species on some of your photos, but it wasn't easy. This is definitely a better match, thanks for correcting it. I'm glad you know the species better. More than 2 years and 12000 photos later some of them are still new species, identified for the first time :) Please keep sharing and identifying them! They are very much appreciated. The Squacco Heron, "Ardeola ralloides", is a small heron, 44–47 centimetres long, of which the body is 20–23 centimetres, with 80–92 centimetres wingspan. It is of Old World origins, breeding in southern Europe and the Greater Middle East.
