  1. These blue butterflies are so hard to identify - there are too many of them and they look so much alike that I have given up trying. If you know them better, there are a few of them from Turkey or elsewhere, which have been identified as Polyommatus icarus, but I am not convinced it is the case and I cannot do better either so if you are willing to check them this is the link to the species.

    1. Dear WildFlower, i have the previlage of working with some of the best people in the field of insects, mamals and birds in Iran at natural History museum of Iran. One of them is mr. Naderi author of the butterflies of iran book and i use his experties to identify my photos and i will ask him to look at these :) Posted 11 years ago

"Pseudophilotes vicrama", the eastern baton blue, is a small butterfly found from Asia, east to Tian Shan and parts of China, west to the Balkans, Turkey, eastern Europe to southern Finland. It belongs to the lycaenids or blues family. The species was first described by Frederic Moore in 1865.
