    1. I am almost sure that it is a Wolf Spider genus but there are more than 2000 wolf spider species...I think that I will pass on identifying this one. Posted 11 years ago

  2. I'd hazard a very good guess that this is a Rabidosa rabid (Rabid Wolf Spider). It occurs in your area, is very common and I believe I can see, eve if they are a bit faint, the spots on the abdominal stripe that differentiate this species - http://bugguide.net/node/view/26083 Posted 11 years ago

"Rabidosa rabida", also known as the rabid wolf spider, is a species of spiders from the family Lycosidae, native to North America. In the United States it is found from Maine to Florida and west to Texas.
