Celosia You may be forgiven for thinking this is a wooly mitten stuck in the garden but it is in fact, (as far as I can ascertain), a Celosia flower of the Amaranth family.  A strange looking but beautiful flower which sports a flat profile along with it's stalk. "Celosia argentea", commonly known as Quail Grass, is a herbaceous plant of tropical origin, and is known for its very bright colors. In India and China it is known as a troublesome weed.
