    1. The main reasons of decline are expanding the urban environment and the lack of suitable nesting sites :( Posted 11 years ago
      1. It seems everything is in decline, butterflies as well :(

        For what it's worth, our garden does attract quite a few of these each year. I have to be honest in that our cat is quite a bird fan as well, yet it seems to prefer the blue tit, which is very abundant.

The house sparrow is a bird of the sparrow family Passeridae, found in most parts of the world. A small bird, it has a typical length of 16 cm and a weight of 24–39.5 g. Females and young birds are coloured pale brown and grey, and males have brighter black, white, and brown markings.
