Quality Control
This one is hard to identify due to the weird angle. I ultimately settled on this identification based on this reference photo:

Fun fact: Not only photographers get confused about dragonfly species, the species themselves mix species up as well. For this reason, their "locking" mechanisms used in mating exclusively fit on the other sex of the same species, and no other species.
Photos taken at the Amsterdamse Waterleiding Duinen. I captured it using my tele lens, as I was actually here for the deer and foxes.

The black-tailed skimmer, "Orthetrum cancellatum", is a European and Asian dragonfly. It occurs nearly all over Europe except northern UK and Scandinavia; to the east, the range extends to Kashmir and Mongolia.
