Red-billed spurfowl
I found this bird rustling around in the undergrowth next to my campsite in the Mudumu National Park. The campsite itself was pretty spectacular. It was about 10km from everything else in the park at the end of a 4x4 track, right next to a hippo pool and, at least when I was there, smack in the middle of the stomping grounds of at least one large herd of elephants. So you basically enjoyed the view by day, went into your tent at night, and made sure not to emerge until sunup.

The red-billed spurfowl , also known as the red-billed francolin, is a species of bird in the Phasianidae family. It is found in Angola, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
