
The life of a black raspberry (Rubus occidentalis)
There are several black raspberry bushes on my property. It's usually a race between me and all of the wildlife in the yard to get to the ripe ones! This pictures shows the stages of a raspberry's life, from immature to ripe to .....well, picked and eaten!
''Rubus occidentalis'' is a species of ''Rubus'' native to eastern North America. Its common name black raspberry is shared with the closely related western American species ''Rubus leucodermis''.
