  1. That's interesting. I have seen these myself in Costa Rica:

    Long-nosed bats These little bloodsuckers were found on a tree in a river of Costa Rica. They are really tiny, about the size of a finger tip. Bats,Costa Rica,Long-nosed Bat,Proboscis bat,Rhynchonycteris naso

    Yet I never knew they are trying to mimic a snake by sleeping like that.

The proboscis bat, "Rhynchonycteris naso", is a bat species from South and Central America. Other common names include sharp-nosed bat, Brazilian long-nosed bat and river bat in English, and murciélago narizón in Spanish. It is monotypic within its genus.
