    1. It's nice to see how the number of identified species is growing. In a couple of days it will be over 4000! I wonder how long we'll need to reach 5000? One year? Less? Interesting challenge... Posted 11 years ago
      1. Hard to tell :) A 1,000 new species typically will take at least several months. Posted 11 years ago
  2. Jivko, I wanted to let you know that I have given you one more moderation right: the right to promote images to the homepage. You'll find the instructions and new action in the moderator panel.

I hope you like this new capability. I certainly could use some help filtering through the large sets of photos we get each day :)

    1. Thank you, Ferdy. I appreciate it! I am doing my best browsing the photos uploaded each day, but as you say their number is increasing permanently. Thanks again! Posted 11 years ago

The Great Reed Warbler is a Eurasian passerine in the genus "Acrocephalus". It used to be placed in the "Old World Warbler" assemblage, but is now recognized as part of the marsh and tree-warbler family. "A. arundinaceus" are medium-sized birds and are the largest of the European warblers.
