Arctium minus, lesser burdock, common burdock
This is a Burdock plant in bloom. When this unusual flower dries up, the "petals" of this flower shrivel, causing the ends to become hook-like. It then can easily attach itself to your clothing or the fur of an animal, earning it the common name "stick tight". It is also thought to be the inspiration for Velcro!

''Arctium minus'', commonly known as lesser burdock, burweed, louse-bur, common burdock, button-bur, cuckoo-button, or wild rhubarb, is a biennial thistle. This plant is native to Europe, but is now widespread throughout most of the United States as a common weed.
