  1. Wow Wendy, this photo has everything right. A fantastic photo in itself, a wonderful weird species, a species intro, well described and geotagged. This is the ultimate level in how to share a photo on JungleDragon. Posted 11 years ago

  3. Wendy, check out this contest winner announcement:

    http://www.jungledragon.com/forum/5/contests/351/jungledragon_summer_games_june_july_august_2014_-_july_winner_announcement.html

You've ended up 2nd place initially, however the winner has declined the prize, and asked us to spent it as we want. I think the most fair thing to do is to award you the prize, as the 2 of you really were on the same level, it was an impossible choice to make.

Therefore, congratulations, this is the winning photo for the July 2014 contest!

Can you ping me a private message to discuss details on how to award you the prize money?

The gerenuk /ˈɡɛrəˌnʊk, ɡəˈrɛnək/, also known as the giraffe gazelle, is a long-necked antelope found in the Horn of Africa and the drier parts of East Africa. The sole member of the genus ''Litocranius'', the gerenuk was first described by the naturalist Victor Brooke in 1878. It is characterised by its long, slender neck and limbs.
