Weather phenomenon - cloud fall streaks
Fall streaks or virga are cloud precipitation that does not reach the ground. The streaks can be raindrops, snowflakes or even halo forming ice crystals.
It happened to be a very hot, very clear day here in Seattle, on the ground, but still very cold in the upper atmosphere. What resulted was this great show of amazing clouds with exquisitely clear air.
