Amazonian Creek I took this picture at the top of a small mountain in the middle of a 10 day backpacking expedition in the Amazon Rainforest in western Guyana. I spent most of my time traveling through lands under the jurisdiction of the local Patamona Indians. According to my guide, who had married into one of the nearby villages, I was the second white person to have ever been to that spot (the first was an amphibian researcher a year prior).
