  1. If you take a look at the detail in the eye you can see the hexagonal honeycomb shape of the ommatidia (http://users.rcn.com/jkimball.ma.ultranet/BiologyPages/C/CompoundEye.html). Posted 11 years ago
    1. Are you sure this is the right species, it's hard to tell from this photo? Do you have an overview?
I noticed that you have identified the species on several photos, some of them more than once. I cannot agree with some of the IDs and it is really hard to tell for others because very little is seen of the species to be identified reliably. Please make sure you double check the IDs before identifying them.

      1. WildFlower, yes I am sure. I spent 7 days looking at these when shooting. I then spent a few days making sure ID'ed it correctly.

Here is another image showing more. I have various other photos, showing the undeveloped wings etc.

Im not the type of person that would ID something without making sure im positive. Of course if you feel it is IDed incorrectly please explain.

  2. Wow, that is very, very close! Are you walking with extenders? Posted 11 years ago
    1. ^_^, no im using a Canon MP-E 65mm. Once Ive got a decent flash I'm planning on getting a 2x extender (http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_Finder/Cameras/EF_Lenses/Extenders/Extender_EF_2x_II/). Im currently using a cheap alternative to Canon's MR-14EX. I'm looking to get a MT-24EX in the next few months. Posted 11 years ago
