    1. It was quite an emotion to capture this moth. As you see this is a nocturnal moth, but somehow walking through the high grass I disturbed it and I thought it will never land again. Landing for a second in the grass and flying again and again - looking for secure dark space to spend the day. From the 6 photos I managed to take, only this one was successful. Posted 11 years ago

The burnet companion moth (Euclidia glyphica) is a moth of the Erebidae family. It is found in most of the Palearctic ecozone from Ireland in the west to Mongolia and Siberia in the east, south to the Mediterranean and North Africa.
