  1. I am in two minds as to whether this is a Military or a Great Green. With the colouring of the feathers it appears to be more like the Great Green, however it is difficult to judge the size. They are both very similar. Posted 11 years ago

The Great Green Macaw , also known as Buffon's Macaw or the Great Military Macaw, is a Central and South American parrot found in Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador. Two allopatric subspecies are recognized; the nominate subspecies is found in Central America to northern Colombia, while ''A. a. guayaquilensis'' is found in western Ecuador and possibly south-western Colombia.
