Flawed Beauty I saw this particular macaw and noticed that it was different than all of the others. It wasn't completely covered in it's trademark rainbow colored feathers. There were splotches of white feathers underneath it's coat. Even though the white feathers were present every person saw this macaw and the beautiful colors it had to display.   1. I think usually it is a sign of stress when they pluck their own feathers. Possibly it once belonged to a citizen. Posted 11 years ago

The scarlet macaw is a large red, yellow, and blue Central and South American parrot, a member of a large group of Neotropical parrots called macaws. It is native to humid evergreen forests of tropical Central and South America. Range extends from south-eastern Mexico to the Peruvian Amazon, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela and Brazil in lowlands of 500 m up to 1,000 m.
