    1. Limacodidae is a family of about 1000 described species. For the identification system to accept it you need to know which one of them it is and there should be a Wikipedia page for it in English. If you have a reference for the species, but there is no record for it in Wikipedia, you can request that it is created in the JungleDragon database.

Where was this photo taken, Thailand? The Fern Cup Moth caterpillar - Hedraea quadridens looks similar, but not exactly the same and it is only found in Australia.

      1. Yes, I took this picture in Thailand. Hey I also saw the same website as the one you linked me but the caterpillar does not look exactly the same and this one has blue color back. It can be the same species with slight differences. Thank you for your help :) Posted 11 years ago

  3. There's a fellow on Flickr who has a number of images of this caterpillar - ( https://flic.kr/p/du68eB )
he tentatively identifies it as a Stinging Nettle Slug Caterpillar (Susica sinensis, Limacodidea), but this still seems a bit general - there appear to be many different color variations

  4. I really think it is a beautifull and impressive looking caterpillar. Shows how strange and extreme nature can get when it's helpfull for survival. And not to forget a very good photo with lots of sharpness over the full body and most of the spines. Posted 11 years ago

  5. Wonderful creature, love the fluorescent green color! Posted 11 years ago
