I'm ready for my closeup I was so amazed at the beauty everyplace we looked in Costa Rica.  At one of our hotels, there were hundreds of hummingbirds.  They were attracted to these red flowers, notice the nectar dripping off the flower? The mangrove hummingbird is a species of hummingbird in the Trochilidae family. It is found only in Costa Rica. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical mangrove forests. It is threatened by habitat loss. The mangrove hummingbird feeds primarily on nectar from the flowers of the tea mangrove ''Pelliciera rhizophorae''.
