While out at a local lake I saw this guy with his unique "hair style". I hadn't seen anything like it before and found it quite interesting.

  1. Mallards often cross breed with other species of duck which can cause some abnormalities. Within the species to there can be genetic deformities causing a crest like this. Fascinating ...and funny! Posted 11 years ago

The mallard or wild duck is a dabbling duck that breeds throughout the temperate and subtropical Americas, Eurasia, and North Africa, and has been introduced to New Zealand, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the Falkland Islands, and South Africa.
