  1. It should be a scarlet ibis, although it looks a little strange. Posted 11 years ago
  2. I noticed it's missing the trademark black tips on the primary wings. I looked back through the rest of the pictures I took that day, but none of them seem to show it. I'm not really sure what that means. It's also paler than it should be, which seems to be a result of the diet it's fed. Sadly, this one is in captivity so it's probably isn't getting as much of its natural diet as it should. Posted 11 years ago

The Scarlet Ibis is a species of ibis in the bird family ''Threskiornithidae''. It inhabits tropical South America and islands of the Caribbean. In form it resembles most of the other twenty-seven extant species of ibis, but its remarkably brilliant scarlet coloration makes it unmistakable.
