Black-headed Python Drinking
Aspidites melanocephalus, or Black-headed Python is a common snake of Western Queensland. It does not have a typical python's head and is often misidentified as venomous. They are well known for their ability to keep venomous snakes at bay - by eating them. While not overly shy, it was a huge privilege to watch one drink from a puddle like this (I was only about six feet away!).
