  2. A little story about this snake or I think it's this one anyway - we have to run a generator when we want to do washing so I went to the shed where the genny is, put it on and when I turned around to walk out of the shed this puffy was at the door. I got the biggest fright of my life and thank goodness had opened a little window so jumped out of the window like a star athlete - the Olympics committee would have been proud. About 2 hours later I had to turn the genny off so went armed with gumboots and snake catching stick and saw it under the little lip at the entrance to the shed. Thank goodness I had seen it before or I would have walked over it and it might have bitten me. I then had to climb back in through the window and back out again and it definitely wasn't as easy second time around. :) Posted 11 years ago
  3. Shouldn't laugh but I can imagine the scenario! We used to get puffies around the house a lot, leaving their skin everywhere, yuk. But not seen one for months now. Biggest fright was when I was watering the garden one day, damn thing bounced out from behind one of the pots, don't know who was more frightened, me or it!!
Typical photographer...take a photo before running for your life!

The puff adder is a venomous viper species found in savannah and grasslands from Morocco and western Arabia throughout Africa except for the Sahara and rainforest regions. It is responsible for causing the most snakebite fatalities in Africa owing to various factors, such as its wide distribution, frequent occurrence in highly populated regions, and aggressive disposition.
