  1. Hi Jivko,
This doesn't strike me as lapponicus on first sight, but I only know lapponicus from my region and there may well be some regional variation. Still, it looks sufficiently different from "our" lapponicus to make me doubt the ID strongly and at the same time it looks uncannily like the few good images I have of E. erythronotus (light disc, dark legs with pale tarsi).
There is a very good revision of Bulgarian roaches on the internet and from reading that you will understand that identification and species "known" from Bulgaria has historiically been a very confusing business, with many, many wrong identifications and mixing up of names. The status of erythronotus from Bulgaria is also a bit swampy with some "burri" mixed in, that have not always been clearly separated, but I still think it is fair to assume we're just looking at erythronotus here.
Have a look at this excellent document:
    https://www.researchgate.net/publication/306541735_An_annotated_checklist_and_key_to_the_Bulgarian_cockroaches_Dictyoptera_Blattodea

Would you agree with me to change the ID for this animal to Ectobius erythronotus?
    Cheers, Arp

    1. Hi Arp, thank you for the comment. You are right. I have made some research myself and it seems it is really Ectobius erythronotus. Posted 7 years ago
      1. Okay, glad you agree :o) Shall I create a species profile later tonight and add the IDs?
        P.S. Ah ... never mind :o))
