Beetles egg-nest

we saw several structures like this one on trees from the Genus Dichaetanthera - our guide explained that the Giraffe Weevil (Trachelophorus giraffa) builds them and lay their eggs inside. the male & female actually collaborate, they cut the leaf and roll it using their long "necks" to create this protected package.
